2013 FITC WOMEN’S INITIATIVE ENTRY

I was thrilled to learn last week that FITC Toronto was holding a contest for women to win tickets for the conference.  The idea is to be creative about telling why you would like to attend FITC 2013.  Of course, since that time, I’ve been feverishly working on my video entry in between client work.  Now today is the deadline and here it is!

In the entry form, they ask to describe your submission in a few sentences. This is what I wrote:

A year ago, I started up my own freelancing business, Image Propeller Studios, where I focus on video game assets,  animation and illustration.  It was an intimidating move for me after being a part of the video game industry for over 10 years; but, so far I’ve found new confidence as an artist and I love working directly with clients.  My entry video describes the reasons I’d like to attend FITC: Learning new technology, meeting creative people and gaining exposure are the key reasons for me to attend the conference and I hope my video will help describe this in a fun and entertaining way!

Now I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!! I really really really really want to go!
